Thomas Tuchel issues Harry Kane warning ahead of Manchester United clash

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has warned Manchester United ahead of their upcoming Champions League tie that Harry Kane is ready and ‘looking forward to’ the game.

Despite having already advanced to the round of 16, the German Champions will visit Old Trafford on Tuesday to play the final match of the Champions League group stage looking for a win.

For Man United, however, winning this game on Tuesday is essential to moving on to the next round of the European tournament. They have to defeat Bayern in the hopes that FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray will draw.

This feat is more concerning from Erik ten Hag’s position now that Tuchel has hinted that former Spurs captain Kane is keen to play in England.

Kane looking forward to Man United clash, says Tuchel

Speaking in an interview, Tuchel said: ‘Yes, for him 100 per cent. He is a winner — he is a champion’.

“It’s nice to go back to England and to Old Trafford. Harry will love it I think and is looking forward to it’.

“Harry is a top pro and a fantastic guy who has adjusted very well to life in Germany.’

Over the weekend, Bayern Munich suffered their first loss of the season as Eintracht Frankfurt thrashed them 5-1.

Even though Kane did not score and could not salvage his team from the humiliating defeat, Tuchel is adamant that the England captain has made a successful transition to Germany.

The result sees Tuchel’s side plummet to the league leaders Bayer Leverkusen – who now hold a three point advantage at the summit of the Bundesliga table.

Tuchel added: “Life in Munich is a good life. He is fluent in German! Munich is a safe city — a beautiful city.”

“We have a lot of nature and a lot of golf courses for Harry when he has some time off. And everybody speaks English, which is good for him, that helps him a lot.”

He also claimed that Bayern Munich ‘need a reaction’ heading into their clash with Manchester United, after suffering such defeat in the Bundesliga.

“We underestimated the danger of the situation and completely gave the game away very early on.

“I have confidence in my team. There’s no point in badmouthing everything now. It continues on Tuesday. Old Trafford. We need a reaction”.

Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka echoed the thoughts of the Bayern first-team boss, as he issued a rallying cry to his team-mates.

“That’s the beauty of football,” he said.

“Things go quickly. For us on Tuesday it’s about showing a reaction.”
